Role Overview

ZyNerd (Frank & David Labs Private Limited) is hiring a Software Engineer - Entry Level in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. In this entry-level engineering role, you will participate across the full software development lifecycle to build user-centric applications supporting students through critical exam counseling processes. The team is technology-agnostic and seeks engineers capable of adapting to diverse frameworks and programming languages, with a strong enthusiasm for Ruby on Rails and modern frontend technologies.

Core Responsibilities

• Full-Cycle Software Engineering: Participate across all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), from conceptual system design to final feature deployment.
• Application Development: Build, test, and maintain responsive software components across varying frameworks, web stacks, and languages as project requirements evolve.
• Code Quality & Optimization: Troubleshoot functional issues, debug codebase defects, and optimize application performance for responsiveness and high reliability.
• Engineering Best Practices: Actively take part in peer code reviews, share constructive feedback, and adhere to clean programming standards.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with internal design, product, and operational teams to implement scalable technical solutions.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical work experience).
• Professional Experience: Open to both freshers and early-career developers (0 to 2 years of relevant experience).
• Core Foundations: Solid grasp of core software development principles, data structures, and the software development lifecycle.
• Technical Adaptability: Working familiarity with at least one programming language and an openness to learn and adapt across multiple tech stacks.
• Frontend & Rails Exposure: Interest in modern frontend technologies and trends; hands-on enthusiasm or prior project exposure to Ruby on Rails (RoRails) is a significant advantage.
