QA Analyst - Manual Testing (Web & Mobile Application Testing / Bug Reporting / Usability)

Role Overview

ZyNerd is hiring a QA Analyst (Manual Testing) based on-site at its office in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. In this entry-level quality assurance role, you will play a crucial part in evaluating Web and Mobile applications prior to production releases. ZyNerd powers career-defining admissions and counseling guidance for lakhs of medical aspirants across India, where product accuracy, usability, and reliability are vital. Prior software QA experience is not required; this role focuses on exploratory testing, identifying functional discrepancies and edge cases, and collaborating directly with developers, designers, and product managers to ensure an exceptional user experience.

Core Responsibilities

• Application Testing: Perform thorough manual functional, exploratory, and regression testing across Web and Mobile platforms prior to scheduled releases.
• Defect Identification: Discover edge cases, functional bugs, layout inconsistencies, and usability issues by testing both standard workflows and unexpected user behaviors.
• Issue Documentation: Document, log, and articulate identified defects with clear, step-by-step reproduction instructions and supporting context.
• Bug Fix Verification: Retest and validate resolved defects across environments to verify stability and prevent regressions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, UX designers, and software engineers to reproduce issues and maintain high software quality standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience Level: Freshers or early-career candidates with up to 1 year of experience; prior QA or software testing experience is not mandatory.
• Exploratory Mindset: Strong curiosity and keen attention to detail with an intuitive approach to discovering edge cases and system flaws.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to document bugs clearly and interact with engineering teams.
• Learning Agility: Demonstrated enthusiasm for learning software quality best practices, with future interest in exploring test automation and AI-assisted QA tooling.
