Role Summary
ZS Associates is hiring an Associate - Platform Services (Data Engineer) for its Gurgaon and Pune centers. In this role, you will configure and develop on the proprietary ZAIDYN platform to build scalable analytics-ready and Agentic AI–ready data products. You will design ETL data pipelines, apply business rules, define KPIs, optimize SQL transformations, and model data to power BI dashboards and intelligent automation for global Pharma and Life Sciences clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Development & ETL: Build, configure, and maintain ZAIDYN data pipelines to ingest, validate, transform, and load data from multiple sources.
- Data Products & Modeling: Design analytics-ready and Agentic AI–ready data products complete with structured features, metadata, and dimensional data models (conceptual, logical, physical).
- SQL & Python Development: Write optimized SQL scripts for transformation, performance tuning, and data validation; build Python scripts for data processing and business logic automation.
- KPI & Quality Enforcement: Apply business rules to enforce data quality and consistency while computing core metrics to support business intelligence and reporting.
- Agile Collaboration & Delivery: Partner across global engineering, BI, and analytics teams through agile delivery, version control, code reviews, and technical documentation.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant software development experience working on medium-to-large-scale technology engagements (Pharma/Life Sciences exposure preferred).
- Mandatory Technical Expertise: Proven hands-on proficiency in ETL development, SQL performance tuning, Python scripting, data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and data engineering fundamentals.
- Preferred Tools & Technologies: Exposure to cloud environments (AWS/Azure) and big data/ETL tools such as Hadoop, Spark/PySpark, Informatica, Talend, or SSIS.
- Core Competencies: Client-first mindset, strong analytical problem-solving capabilities, fluency in English, and strong communication skills.
