Role Summary
Zoetis India Capability Center (ZICC) is looking for a Data Engineer in Hyderabad to design, develop, and maintain data solutions using Azure Data Factory and Databricks. The role focuses on data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, database management, data transformation, CI/CD, and collaboration with business and technology teams to deliver scalable and cost-effective data solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Engineering: Design and develop data solutions, pipelines, workflows, and transformation processes using Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
- Data Integration: Integrate data from multiple sources and ensure reliable data flow between systems.
- ETL/ELT: Extract data from various sources, transform it according to business requirements, and efficiently load it into target systems.
- Database Management: Design, implement, maintain, monitor, and optimize PostgreSQL, SQL, and Azure database environments.
- Performance & Recovery: Optimize data processing and storage for performance and cost efficiency and implement robust database backup and recovery strategies.
- DevOps: Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and use Git for version control and team collaboration.
- Business Collaboration: Work with business stakeholders to understand integration requirements, business processes, and deliver solutions aligned with organizational objectives.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with infrastructure teams, implementation partners, developers, and other stakeholders to implement and support data integration solutions.
- Production Support: Identify and resolve data and integration issues within SLA guidelines and provide ongoing support to business users.
- Technology Learning: Stay current with new technologies and continuously improve data engineering practices and solutions.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or a related field.
- Experience: 3–7 years of overall experience in Data Engineering.
- Azure Data Engineering: Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory and Databricks.
- Programming: Strong proficiency in Python for data engineering and transformation activities.
- Databases: Strong knowledge of SQL and database management, including PostgreSQL and Azure databases.
- ETL/ELT: Strong understanding and hands-on experience with ETL/ELT concepts and pipeline management.
- Data Analysis: Knowledge of data analysis, data modeling, data profiling, and architecting data analytics solutions.
- DevOps: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, version control, and Agile methodologies.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with business stakeholders, developers, infrastructure teams, and implementation partners.
- Business Systems: Exposure to commercial business systems such as SAP ERP, Salesforce, Vistex, Callidus, Five9, and master data management applications is relevant to the role.
