Role Summary
Zensar Technologies is hiring a Senior Java Developer to join our digital engineering team in Kharadi, Pune. In this role, you will architect, build, and deploy resilient, high-throughput microservices using modern Java (Java 21) and the Spring Boot ecosystem. You will develop event-driven messaging backbones with Apache Kafka, manage containerized deployments across Kubernetes and cloud environments (AWS/Azure), implement secure API authentication models, and optimize complex relational data layers with SQL and jOOQ.
Key Responsibilities
- Microservices Architecture & Development: Design, code, and maintain scalable, low-latency microservices and RESTful APIs using Java 21 and Spring Boot.
- Event-Driven & Data Engineering: Implement streaming pipelines and asynchronous workflows using Apache Kafka, and build efficient data access layers utilizing SQL and the jOOQ framework.
- Cloud & Container Orchestration: Containerize backend services with Docker, manage deployment configurations on Kubernetes, and support cloud-native deployments on AWS or Azure.
- Security & API Management: Enforce enterprise-grade API security models using Spring Security, OAuth2, and JWT token authentication mechanisms.
- Code Quality & Observability: Lead technical code reviews, execute comprehensive unit/integration testing, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and configure platform monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of solid hands-on software development experience with Java, enterprise frameworks, and microservices architectures.
- Core Stack: Advanced proficiency in Java (modern versions), Spring Boot, Spring Data/Security, RESTful API design, Apache Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and jOOQ/SQL.
- Nice to Have: Hands-on exposure to caching engines (Redis, Caffeine), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), distributed tracing, and domain experience in Banking, Payments, or Financial Services.
- Professional Competencies: Strong systems debugging acumen, design pattern mastery (including Domain-Driven Design), and collaborative execution in Agile/Scrum environments.
