Role Summary
Wipro is hiring a Test Engineer L2 for its quality assurance and digital engineering practice in Bengaluru. In this role, you will support testing operations by analyzing client requirements, drafting comprehensive test scenarios, and maintaining requirement traceability. You will prepare and validate test datasets, execute backend database checks using SQL queries, run assigned functional test cases, and log defects and execution results within enterprise test management tools under the guidance of senior QA leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Requirement Analysis & Traceability: Review client business requirements, identify data dependencies, and maintain documentation linking requirements to test cases.
- Test Case Design & Execution: Create detailed test cases and step-by-step procedures; execute functional and regression tests under supervision and record results accurately in test management tools.
- Backend Data Validation: Prepare and validate test data sets, executing database queries to perform backend data integrity checks and verify output precision.
- Defect Logging & Reporting: Identify discrepancies, isolate functional bugs, log actionable defect reports with evidence, and support retesting upon resolution.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 1 to 3 years of software testing experience in functional and backend validation.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Python scripting, test case design, test management platforms, backend query execution (SQL), and manual/automation test lifecycle methodologies.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Understanding of test automation frameworks, CI/CD testing integration, and Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Core Soft Skills: Detail-oriented execution, strong analytical problem-solving, structured documentation, and collaborative teamwork.
