Role Summary
Wipro is hiring a seasoned DEVELOPER L4 (PHP Backend Engineer) to join our enterprise digital engineering team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and deploy resilient, high-performance web applications and backend systems for global clients. You will analyze business requirements, convert functional specifications into clean, modular PHP architectures, drive test automation and root-cause analysis, and ensure 100% adherence to quality assurance and release milestones.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Architecture & Engineering: Architect, code, test, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications and backend services using modern PHP and relational databases.
- Requirement Analysis & Design: Partner with system analysts and project managers to examine workflow processes, define operational feasibility, and translate complex client needs into scalable technical designs.
- Code Quality & Bug Resolution: Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) on production defects, eliminate performance bottlenecks, and execute automated test suites to ensure zero-defect code deliveries.
- Continuous Integration & Delivery: Coordinate seamless releases across CI/CD environments, monitor throughput, and adhere strictly to project release schedules.
- Documentation & Client Alignment: Author detailed technical documentation, flowcharts, and architecture diagrams, providing structured status updates and transparent technical communication to stakeholders.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of solid hands-on software development experience with PHP in enterprise web platforms.
- Core Stack: Advanced proficiency in PHP, Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), relational database management (MySQL/PostgreSQL), RESTful API engineering, and Git.
- Nice to Have: Hands-on experience with modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony), containerized deployments (Docker), and automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Professional Competencies: Strong analytical problem-solving, structured code documentation, customer-centric mindset, and proactive collaboration in distributed delivery teams.
