Role Summary
Wells Fargo is hiring a Software Engineer for its technology operations in Hyderabad. In this role, you will design, code, test, debug, and document backend and distributed streaming applications using Java, Python, and Apache Kafka. You will apply an AI-first mindset to software development by integrating enterprise-approved AI tools for automated code generation, testing, documentation, and diagnostics while adhering to security, risk, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Application & Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain software solutions and event streaming workflows using Java, Python, and Apache Kafka.
- AI-Assisted Engineering: Leverage approved AI-powered development tools for code generation, test case generation, debugging, and automated documentation.
- Quality, Testing & Debugging: Execute unit/integration tests, debug technical issues, perform code reviews, and support system deployments and upgrades.
- Governance & Compliance: Adhere to established engineering standards, data privacy protocols, risk mitigation policies, and responsible AI governance.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Experience: 2+ years of professional software engineering and application development experience.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Core proficiency in Java, Python, Apache Kafka, database concepts, RESTful APIs, Git source control, and Agile delivery practices.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Hands-on experience with AI-assisted engineering tools (code generation copilots, test generators), CI/CD workflows, and deployment support.
- Core Soft Skills: Clear technical communication, continuous willingness to learn emerging technologies, problem-solving abilities, and collaborative teamwork.
