Role Summary
Warner Bros. Discovery is hiring a Data Scientist II for its SPARK organization in Hyderabad (Hybrid). In this hands-on machine learning and experimentation role, you will build models for probabilistic identity resolution, audience intelligence, content recommendation, forecasting, and personalization across WBD's streaming platforms (such as HBO Max and Discovery+). You will collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers and Product teams to validate models, design experimentation frameworks, and deploy solutions to production on Databricks, Snowflake, and AWS environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Predictive Modeling & ML Architecture: Design and build models for audience segmentation, identity resolution, content affinity, genre preferences, churn prediction, and ad response optimization.
- Experimentation & Causal Inference: Structure A/B testing methodologies, baselines, and evaluation frameworks to measure model drift, calibration, and overall business value.
- Production Pipeline Delivery: Partner with Machine Learning Engineering to deploy validated models into production with reproducibility, automated monitoring, and data leakage controls.
- Cross-Functional Problem Framing: Translate complex business questions from Product, Ad Sales, and Finance into structured data science problem statements and actionable insights.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Data Science, Mathematics, or a quantitative discipline.
- Experience: 3–5 years of hands-on experience building machine learning, statistical, or predictive models for production business systems.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Strong Python and SQL programming, PySpark/Spark distributed data processing, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, MLflow, and statistical modeling.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Background in streaming/media/ad-tech domains, uplift modeling, graph algorithms, lookalike modeling, and multi-objective optimization.
