Role Summary
WAISL Digital is looking for an experienced Data Quality / ETL Test Engineer to validate data accuracy, transformations, and integrity across source and target systems. The role focuses on ETL/ELT testing, SQL-based data validation, defect management, dashboard validation, and automation of data quality checks.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Validation: Validate data accuracy and integrity between source and target systems using structured test cases and SQL queries.
- ETL Testing: Test ETL/ELT pipelines and data transformations to ensure data is processed correctly across systems.
- Test Execution: Create and execute data validation test cases and perform regression testing for data-related changes.
- Defect Management: Identify, document, track, and support resolution of data defects in collaboration with development and product teams.
- Dashboard Validation: Validate data presented through dashboards and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, and Looker.
- Data Quality Monitoring: Monitor data quality metrics and generate reports to identify and communicate data quality issues.
- Test Automation: Automate data validation checks where possible using Python, Selenium, and Pytest.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Developers, Analysts, and Product teams to support reliable data delivery and quality.
Key Qualifications
- Experience: 6–12 years of relevant experience in data testing, ETL testing, or related quality engineering roles.
- SQL: Strong SQL knowledge, including joins, aggregations, and window functions.
- Data Testing: Experience with database testing, data validation, ETL tools, and data transformations.
- Automation: Experience with Python, Selenium, and Pytest for test automation.
- Data Warehousing: Basic understanding of data warehousing concepts, including Star and Snowflake schemas.
- API Testing: Knowledge of API testing.
- Reporting: Experience validating dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar tools.
