Role Summary
Visa is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer - AWS, Kubernetes, Automation, Platform Engineering (I5) for its Public Cloud Infrastructure Engineering division in Bengaluru, Karnataka (Hybrid - 3 days in office). In this cloud-native platform engineering role, you will build, automate, and operate secure, scalable AWS infrastructure and Kubernetes (EKS) platforms. You will engineer reusable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) modules, build CI/CD automation pipelines, enforce cybersecurity controls, and enhance operational observability for mission-critical enterprise payment applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Platform Engineering: Design, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and Amazon EKS platforms using reusable Terraform IaC blueprints.
- Automation & Self-Service: Build CI/CD pipelines, automated compliance controls, and self-service engineering workflows using Python, Go, and Bash.
- Kubernetes Cluster Management: Manage EKS lifecycle activities including cluster provisioning, version upgrades, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
- Reliability & Observability: Drive operational stability, monitor platform performance, reduce toil, and resolve incidents with root-cause analysis.
- Security & Hardening: Partner with Cybersecurity teams to implement security controls, policy-as-code governance, and vulnerability remediation.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3 to 7 years of software, cloud, or platform engineering experience in enterprise environments.
- Core Technical Stack: Deep hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, Kubernetes, Terraform IaC, and scripting languages (Python, Go, Bash).
- DevOps & CI/CD: Proven experience with Git workflows, continuous integration/continuous delivery frameworks, and Agile delivery.
- Nice to Have: Experience with ArgoCD (GitOps), Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, or official AWS/Kubernetes certifications (AWS Solutions Architect, CKA).
