Role Summary
Virtusa is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-scale Java applications. The role involves working with Spring technologies, microservices, web services, and cloud deployment while following established software development methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development: Design and develop high-quality, scalable applications using Java, Spring, Spring Batch, and microservices.
- Application Design: Create design documents and follow approved software development lifecycle methodologies.
- Programming: Develop application code using Java and object-oriented programming principles.
- Web Services: Build and work with REST services and SOAP services.
- Testing: Perform unit testing and system testing using JUnit and other applicable testing approaches.
- Cloud Deployment: Support application deployment to cloud environments.
- Issue Resolution: Investigate, debug, and resolve technical issues through research and analysis.
- Implementation: Execute implementation activities and support application delivery.
- Project Tracking: Use JIRA and related tools to support project activities and Agile development practices.
Key Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Java and J2EE.
- Experience with JUnit and Spring technologies, including Spring Batch.
- Knowledge of REST services, SOAP services, and microservices.
- Understanding of cloud deployment.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with SQL and database concepts.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and JIRA or related tools.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle.
