Role Summary
Virtusa is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join our development team in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. In this full-time role, you will focus on core Java API development and Microservices architecture, leading end-to-end API lifecycle processes and service configurations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional development, QA, and operations teams to debug complex, distributed systems and deliver resilient enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- API Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust end-to-end Java APIs and Microservices according to enterprise standards.
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee full API lifecycle configurations, service deployments, and integration management across environments.
- System Debugging: Apply advanced problem-solving techniques to trace, diagnose, and resolve distributed system failures and application defects.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner seamlessly with QA, DevOps, and operations teams to streamline service delivery and continuous integration.
- Quality Maintenance: Perform routine code evaluations, performance monitoring, and service optimization to ensure system stability and high availability.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 4 to 7 years of hands-on experience specializing in Java API and Microservices development.
- Core Technical Skills: Core Java, Java Microservices, REST API Development, API Lifecycle Management, and Distributed System Architecture.
- Key Methodologies: Service Configuration, Defect & Log Debugging, API Integration, and Agile Software Development.
- Preferred Capabilities: Knowledge of Spring Boot, cloud deployments, automated testing frameworks, and strong cross-team technical communication habits.
