Role Summary
Virtusa is hiring a high-caliber Mobile Solution Architect to join our engineering practice in Hyderabad. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end software architecture and development of next-generation medical device companion applications and connected healthcare solutions. You will define mobile system architectures leveraging Flutter, native iOS, and native Android, drive secure hardware-to-app communication protocols, orchestrate cloud service integrations, and deliver compliant technical documentation aligned with healthcare industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Mobile Architecture & System Design: Architect, design, and govern resilient hybrid and native mobile applications leveraging Flutter, iOS (Swift), and Android (Kotlin) integrated with external medical hardware and sensors.
- Cloud & API Integration: Design and secure high-throughput RESTful API integrations and real-time synchronization pipelines connecting edge devices to enterprise cloud backends.
- Regulatory & Technical Documentation: Author comprehensive software design specifications, architectural diagrams, and compliance documentation supporting medical device regulations and audit standards.
- Full Lifecycle Leadership: Direct all phases of the product engineering lifecycle from requirements gathering and technical spikes to code reviews, risk analysis, release, and post-launch monitoring.
- Engineering Governance & Mentorship: Champion clean architectural patterns (MVVM, Clean Architecture), lead cross-functional technical alignment, and guide distributed Agile development squads.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 8+ years of total software engineering experience, including a minimum of 6 years dedicated to mobile architecture, system design, and hands-on delivery.
- Core Stack: Proven architectural mastery in Flutter (Dart), native iOS and Android ecosystems, RESTful web services, cloud service integration, and object-oriented design patterns.
- Nice to Have: Direct domain experience in medical devices or regulated industries (e.g., IEC 62304, HIPAA, FDA compliance), mobile hardware connectivity (Bluetooth Low Energy / Wi-Fi / Serial), and threat/risk modeling.
- Professional Competencies: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, executive stakeholder management, and proactive leadership within fast-paced Agile environments.
