Role Summary
VCTI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop and support network technology solutions using Python, automation, and system testing. The role is part of the India Engineering team and involves collaboration with global engineering teams and clients to deliver large-scale, distributed, multi-geo, and multi-tenant network solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Test Automation: Develop and execute automated and manual system and integration tests to validate network technology solutions.
- Python Automation: Build and maintain Python-based automation solutions supporting software development and system testing activities.
- Network Technologies: Work on networking and telecom product lines including switches, routers, and related network technologies.
- Quality Engineering: Ensure software and testing deliverables meet established quality standards and project requirements.
- Global Collaboration: Work closely with India Engineering teams, global teams, stakeholders, and clients to accelerate solution delivery.
- Problem Solving: Investigate technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Support: Work independently while providing technical guidance and support to team members when required.
- Delivery Management: Prioritize workloads and ensure assigned deliverables are completed within tight deadlines.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Relevant technical or engineering background suitable for software development and network technology roles.
- Experience: 5–12 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in system/integration testing and automation.
- Core Technical Skills: Strong expertise in Python automation, manual testing, automated testing, and system/integration testing.
- Networking: Professional experience with at least one networking, telecom, mobile, LTE, switches, or routers product line.
- Preferred Technologies: Understanding of OTN, SONET, SDH, Packet Optical Switching, CI/CD tools, Jira, Confluence, and Docker or container environments.
- Communication: Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills for working with teams and customers.
- Professional Attributes: Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, adaptability, independent working capability, and ability to prioritize work in an agile environment.
