Role Summary
UST is hiring a Developer II - Embedded Software for its semiconductor validation and software engineering division in Hyderabad. In this hands-on firmware and driver engineering role, you will design, develop, and test production-grade embedded C/C++ software, low-level device drivers, and system-level applications. You will work across complex software architectures, board support packages, and embedded kernel environments to deliver secure, maintainable solutions for semiconductor product validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Embedded Firmware & Driver Development: Write, test, and maintain low-level device drivers for bootloaders, serial interfaces, and communication peripherals in C and C++.
- System Debugging & Architecture: Troubleshoot complex hardware-software interactions, analyze memory and performance issues, and apply Object-Oriented principles to maintain software architecture integrity.
- OS & Peripheral Integration: Develop and integrate driver modules on Embedded Linux, Zephyr RTOS, and Wired Ethernet networking stacks.
- Production Delivery & Quality: Write clean, well-tested code within an enterprise environment, contributing to code reviews, unit testing, and product validation schedules.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: 2–3 years of hands-on software development experience in embedded systems and device drivers.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Strong programming skills in Embedded C and C++, device driver development, system debugging, and low-level peripheral control.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Embedded Linux kernel/driver workflows, Zephyr OS, Ethernet protocols, and boot/communication peripheral drivers.
