Role Summary
Uniphore is hiring a Senior Staff Software Engineer (SDET) to lead quality engineering across our Bengaluru and Chennai development centers. In this high-impact technical leadership role, you will define the overarching QA strategy and automation roadmap for Uniphore’s enterprise SaaS and multimodal AI platforms. You will architect custom test automation frameworks spanning APIs, UIs, and distributed data pipelines, while establishing test validation strategies for Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and LLM model integrations in enterprise production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- QA Strategy & Technical Leadership: Establish the quality engineering roadmap and testing standards across multi-tenant SaaS and distributed AI microservices architectures.
- Automation Framework Architecture: Design, build, and maintain custom, scalable automation frameworks for end-to-end API, UI, and data-driven validation utilizing Python, Java, or TypeScript.
- AI/ML & GenAI Validation: Collaborate with data science squads to formulate testing strategies for foundation models, prompt engineering, fine-tuning workflows, RAG architectures, and model deployment pipelines.
- Reliability & Non-Functional Testing: Drive platform longevity, regression, migration, and performance testing using load tools (JMeter, Gatling, k6) to ensure enterprise platform scalability.
- CI/CD & Process Optimization: Embed automated test suites into continuous deployment pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), analyze defect trends, and champion testing best practices across Agile/SAFe teams.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 9+ years of extensive software quality engineering experience, featuring proven success architecting custom test automation frameworks for complex enterprise systems.
- Programming & Automation: Expert-level programming proficiency in at least one language (Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript) paired with deep framework architecture expertise.
- AI Testing Capabilities: Demonstrated experience evaluating AI/ML models, RAG frameworks, and Generative AI libraries (such as LangChain or Guidance).
- Infrastructure & Tooling: Hands-on knowledge of distributed microservices, REST APIs, cloud ecosystems (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and modern CI/CD orchestration.
- Professional Competencies: Proven technical mentorship abilities, structured root cause analysis, and excellent stakeholder communication skills.
