About the Vapasi Returnship Program

Thoughtworks Vapasi is a 5-week returnship program designed for experienced women or gender-diverse developers who have taken a career break (between 1 to 5 years). This paid internship and training program held at the Thoughtworks Bengaluru (Mahadevapura) office provides hands-on coding sessions, 1-on-1 mentorship, and project experience to help technologists restart their software development careers with confidence. Based on performance, participants may receive offers for full-time roles at Thoughtworks.

Key Responsibilities & Learning Path

• Skill Refresher: Participate in 5 weeks of intensive full-time technical training to refresh and sharpen core software engineering practices.
• Live Project Work: Apply software development skills directly on live Thoughtworks client or internal projects under the guidance of technical mentors.
• Mentorship & Leadership Exposure: Engage in 1-on-1 technical coaching, peer collaboration, and strategic sessions with Thoughtworks engineering leaders.

Key Qualifications & Eligibility

• Prior Experience: Minimum 2 to 5 years of hands-on software engineering experience prior to taking a career break.
• Career Break: Currently on a career break lasting between 1 and 5 years.
• Target Audience: Women and gender-diverse technologists returning to the IT industry.
• Mandatory Technical Stack: Foundational development experience in Java and React.js.
• Preferred Technical Exposure: Cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Program Location: Full-time in-person training at Thoughtworks Mahadevapura office, Bengaluru.
