Role Summary
Thermo Fisher Scientific is hiring a Senior Systems Developer to maintain, develop, and support corporate applications. The role involves application development, database design, testing, validation, deployment coordination, release management, and compliance with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Analyze, design, develop, and support moderately complex information system components.
- System Maintenance: Maintain corporate applications, including security, configuration, validation, and deployments.
- Database Design: Provide recommendations on database design and support relational database platforms.
- Programming: Develop and code system components using ASP.NET, C#, web services, ETL, and REST services.
- Testing and Validation: Perform unit, system, and validation testing as required.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and review requirements documents, specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
- Release Management: Coordinate application deployments with Operations and other IT teams.
- Application Support: Work with business partners to investigate and resolve support requests.
- Team Guidance: Provide technical guidance to junior staff and contract personnel.
- Quality and Compliance: Ensure development and support activities meet established quality and compliance requirements.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant academic or vocational qualification.
- 5+ years of comparable professional experience.
- Excellent knowledge of ASP.NET, C#, web services, ETL, REST services, and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Microsoft IIS, Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure Web Apps, Azure Function Apps, and Azure DevOps is preferred.
- Clinical industry knowledge and project management experience are advantageous.
- Availability for the APAC Shift-2 schedule, occasional extended hours, and on-call rotation.
