Role Summary
Thales is hiring a Technical Lead (DevOps Engineer - C#) for its IFEC Payment Squad at the Engineering Competence Centre in Bengaluru. In this role, you will design, build, test, and deploy software features powering inflight entertainment and connectivity (IFEC) payment systems. You will lead development pipelines using C# (.NET), cloud substrates (AWS/Azure), and SQL databases, while driving DevOps automation, containerized deployments, and mentoring entry-level software engineers within an Agile/Scrum framework.
Key Responsibilities
- C# & Cloud Engineering: Design, code, test, and document high-performance web services and RESTful APIs using C# (.NET) and relational databases (SQL/MySQL).
- DevOps & Production Deployments: Build, configure, and maintain scalable cloud deployments on AWS/Azure, incorporating containerization tools (Docker/Kubernetes) and secure CI/CD practices.
- Testing & Security Best Practices: Conduct automated unit testing, support end-to-end integration testing, and enforce data privacy and security authentication standards (OAuth2/OpenID Connect).
- Mentorship & Agile Leadership: Participate in all Scrum ceremonies, act as a technical mentor to junior engineers, and collaborate across global aviation payment teams.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional software engineering and DevOps experience.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in C# (.NET), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), relational databases (SQL/MySQL), REST API design, unit testing, and Agile lifecycle principles.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Entity Framework, ActiveMQ/RedHat A-MQ, Kubernetes, Docker, TFS/Git/Bitbucket, Jira/JAMA, Azure AD authentication, and Datadog monitoring.
- Core Soft Skills: Strong technical leadership, willingness to mentor, accountability, and collaborative cross-stakeholder communication.
