Role Summary
Tech Mahindra is hiring a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer (Ignition Engineer) at its TechM Karuna facility in Chennai. This position focuses on Inductive Automation Ignition development, designing, implementing, and supporting robust industrial automation and MES/SCADA applications to meet client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Design, develop, and implement industrial applications using the Inductive Automation Ignition platform and GE Plant Apps.
- Requirements & Design: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into scalable technical specifications.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous system testing, debugging, and validation to ensure high-quality software deliverables.
- Support & Optimization: Provide technical support, perform troubleshooting, and optimize existing SCADA/MES applications.
- Documentation & Best Practices: Document development processes, code changes, and system configurations while participating in peer code reviews.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in software development, with a strong focus on Inductive Automation Ignition platform components.
- Database Competency: Solid hands-on experience with SQL databases and relational data modeling.
- Scripting & Automation (Preferred): Experience with Python or JavaScript scripting, IoT integration, cloud platforms, and industrial automation environments.
- Preferred Certifications: Official Inductive Automation Ignition certifications or related SCADA/MES technology credentials are a plus.
