Role Summary
Tanla Platforms is hiring a Data Engineer for its Data Engineering team in Hyderabad. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize large-scale ETL/ELT data pipelines and data warehouses supporting real-time analytics across Tanla's CPaaS ecosystem. You will process diverse datasets, including Call Detail Records (CDR), leverage Big Data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), write analytical SQL queries, and enforce data quality across distributed environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Pipeline Design & ETL/ELT: Architect, implement, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale enterprise data processing and real-time analytics.
- Big Data & Telecom Processing: Process and transform telecom datasets, specifically Call Detail Records (CDR), using Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka streaming technologies.
- SQL Optimization & Modelling: Write and tune analytical SQL queries for maximum performance; design Star and Snowflake schema data models for enterprise warehousing.
- Data Workflow Development: Program data workflows using Python, Scala, or Java across public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Data Quality & Governance: Enforce strict data accuracy, governance, and structural integrity across distributed analytics systems.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 5 to 10 years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering or data pipeline development.
- Core Technical Stack: Advanced SQL, ETL/ELT architectures, Big Data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka), Python/Scala/Java, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Data Warehousing & CDR: Solid expertise in data warehouse design (Star/Snowflake schemas) and direct background in CDR parsing and transformation.
- Preferred Tools: Exposure to Airflow, Snowflake, Redshift, or telecom/network analytics systems is highly desirable.
