Role Summary
Synchrony is hiring a VP, IAM Assurance Leader (L13) for its Technology team based in Hyderabad, India (with additional eligibility across Delhi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata). Reporting directly to the VP, IAM Programs Leader and managing a team of seven, this strategic executive role leads the IAM Services Assurance function across all centralized and decentralized IAM environments. You will drive multi-year assurance roadmaps, automate control defect tracking/remediation, manage SOX/PCI audit readiness, and oversee key controls across Active Directory, LDAP, Beyond Identity, and privileged access stacks during US-India business overlap windows (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST).
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Assurance Leadership: Develop and execute multi-year strategic roadmaps for IAM control monitoring, assurance reporting platform modernization, and evidence automation.
- People & Team Oversight: Direct, mentor, and build a team of 7 IAM security engineers and assurance specialists, fostering cross-functional alignment and delivery discipline.
- Audit & Compliance Management: Serve as the primary lead for SOX, PCI, and regulatory examination evidence, proactively resolving audit findings through root-cause correction and durable control design.
- Automated Control Operations: Architect automated detection and remediation workflows for logical access, authentication assurance, and privileged access control defects.
- Metrics & KPI Tracking: Establish and monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate control pass rates, remediation SLAs, and assurance coverage.
Key Qualifications
- Education & Experience: BS/BA in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or Business Management with 10+ years of IT experience (OR 12+ years of progressive IT experience without a degree).
- IAM Expertise: 5+ years leading multiple IAM service products (Authentication, PAM, IGA) and 5+ years developing/improving IAM control reporting frameworks.
- Operations & Leadership: 3+ years leading operations/assurance teams, 2+ years of direct people management, and 2+ years working in Agile roles (Product Owner, Scrum Master, or Tech Lead).
- Technical Stack: Deep technical mastery of directory services (Active Directory, LDAP), Linux/Unix access administration, Beyond Identity, SailPoint IdentityIQ, ServiceNow, BeyondTrust/Bomgar, and RSA Authentication Manager.
- Shift & Overlap Expectations: Willingness to align work schedules with US business hours (9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST window) to enable executive and cross-regional collaboration.
- Nice to Have: Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or PMP, alongside strong domain knowledge in financial sector regulations (SOX, PCI-DSS, FFIEC, NIST 800-63).
