Data Scientist / Analytics Engineer (Level 09)

Role Summary

Synchrony is hiring a Data Scientist / Analytics Engineer (Level 09) for its Data Analytics division in India. In this role, you will leverage cloud-based machine learning tools like Amazon SageMaker to build advanced analytical models, solve complex technical problems, and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions. This position offers flexible working options aligned with US Eastern meeting hours (6:00 AM – 11:30 AM ET / 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM IST).

Key Responsibilities

• ML Model Development & Deployment: Design, build, and deploy machine learning models and analytical solutions using Amazon SageMaker and AWS infrastructure.
• Requirement Translation: Engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders to elicit business needs and accurately translate them into robust analytical and technical specifications.
• Problem Solving & Collaboration: Investigate complex technical problems with minimal supervision, collaborating effectively across agile and cross-functional teams.

Key Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or another quantitative field (or 5 to 7 years of equivalent analytics experience in lieu of a degree).
• Experience: Minimum 3+ years of hands-on analytics experience, including 1+ years dedicated to using Amazon SageMaker.
• Mandatory Technical Stack: Amazon SageMaker, Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Preferred Exposure: 2 to 4 years of analytics experience within the Financial Services / Banking industry.
• Work Setup: Enhanced flexibility with choice to work from home or regional engagement hubs (Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Kolkata, Delhi NCR), aligned with US Eastern meeting hours.
