Role Summary
Sutherland is hiring a Data Analyst - Microsoft Fabric & Azure Data Platform for a permanent Work at Home (WAH) position based out of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In this data engineering and analytics role, you will build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft Fabric Data Factory, implement Medallion Lakehouse architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers), design Star and Snowflake schema data models, execute complex SQL/PySpark transformations, and optimize datasets for Power BI reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabric Pipeline & Lakehouse Engineering: Design and maintain Lakehouse and Warehouse solutions in Microsoft Fabric; develop scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Data Factory across Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers.
- Dimensional Data Modeling: Design Fact and Dimension tables, surrogate keys, and Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCDs) using Star and Snowflake schema principles optimized for analytical performance.
- SQL & Python Development: Write complex SQL stored procedures, views, and query frameworks alongside Python/PySpark scripts for data validation, automated quality checks, and reconciliation.
- Analytics & Power BI Support: Partner with business stakeholders to define KPIs, construct semantic models/datasets for Power BI, and maintain data governance and lineage standards.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 3–7 years in Data Engineering, Analytics, or BI, with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric or Azure-based analytics platforms.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory, Lakehouse/Delta Lakes, Star/Snowflake schemas, PySpark, Python (Pandas/NumPy), Advanced SQL, and Power BI dataset modeling.
- Preferred Credentials: Microsoft Fabric Certifications (DP-600 or DP-700), Azure Data Engineering experience, Git CI/CD workflows, and Apache Spark optimization.
- Work Setup: Permanent Work at Home (WAH) / Remote.
