Scrum Master

Role Summary

Southwest Airlines is hiring a Scrum Master for its Technology department in Hyderabad, Telangana. In this Agile leadership role, you will facilitate Scrum ceremonies, coach cross-functional software engineering teams, remove operational impediments, and act as the liaison between Product Owners and development teams. You will drive Agile adoption using Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe frameworks while tracking team velocity and flow metrics to optimize delivery effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Agile Ceremony Facilitation: Organize and lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and release planning demos.
• Impediment Removal & Coaching: Identify and eliminate blockers, coach teams on core Agile values, and establish team accountability and transparency.
• Stakeholder Agreements: Establish operational working agreements across stakeholders, including Definition of Done (DoD), scope lock, and work acceptance criteria.
• Metrics & Transparency: Act as an information radiator to communicate team progress, velocity, and flow metrics across internal and external stakeholders.

Key Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent technical discipline.
• Experience: 2–5 years of relevant experience facilitating Agile teams as a Scrum Master.
• Mandatory Technical Frameworks: Deep proficiency in Scrum framework, Kanban methods, SAFe, and tracking Velocity and Flow metrics.
