Role Summary
Sopra Steria is hiring an **MS BI - Module Lead** for its Chennai (Siruseri) location. In this role, you will lead database engineering, business intelligence reporting, and production support operations aligned with UK business shifts. You will optimize SQL Server database objects, maintain SSIS/SSRS/SSAS packages, automate administrative routines via PowerShell, and apply deep retail domain expertise across merchandising, supply chain, and inventory workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Database & BI Engineering: Develop, tune, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, T-SQL objects, and MSBI (SSIS, SSRS, SSAS) solutions.
- Production Support & ITIL: Manage production support, incident triage, problem management, root cause analysis (RCA), and change requests adhering to ITIL frameworks.
- Automation & Administration: Utilize PowerShell and Linux shell scripting to automate administrative tasks, system maintenance, and task scheduling.
- Domain Support: Support retail enterprise workflows including inventory management, merchandising, sales pricing, promotions, and supply chain logistics.
- Cross-Functional Operations: Assist with cloud deployment pipelines (Azure/AWS), Java/C# application support troubleshooting, and system monitoring.
Key Qualifications
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech / MCA in Computer Science, IT, or related fields.
- Experience: 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in SQL Server, MSBI stack, and database production support.
- Core Technical Stack: Deep proficiency in T-SQL optimization, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, PowerShell scripting, and ITIL process management.
- Domain Knowledge: Solid functional background in Retail business processes (merchandising, supply chain, inventory management).
- Desirable Exposure: Exposure to Java/.NET application support, Linux system administration, and Cloud DevOps (AWS/Azure) CI/CD concepts.
