Role Summary
Société Générale is looking for a Specialist Software Engineer – Axiom Developer in Bangalore to develop, maintain, and support Axiom-based applications and reporting solutions. The role involves Axiom development, ETL and database development, report creation and performance tuning, production support, and participation across the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development: Understand software requirements and develop high-quality Axiom application solutions that meet business requirements and agreed timelines.
- Report Development: Develop and maintain Axiom reports, including Freeform and Taxonomy reports, while ensuring quality and performance.
- Database Development: Work on ETL and database development activities using SQL and Oracle PL/SQL.
- Performance Tuning: Develop and optimize reports and application components to improve performance and reliability.
- Production Support: Monitor, record, and resolve production incidents and errors while coordinating with stakeholders and management.
- Configuration & Releases: Manage application and infrastructure production configurations, processes, deployments, and releases.
- Software Development Lifecycle: Contribute across all stages of the SDLC, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
- Agile Collaboration: Participate in Agile practices including daily scrum, iteration planning, retrospectives, test-driven activities, and prioritization of work according to iteration goals.
Key Qualifications
- Axiom Development: Hands-on experience in Axiom application development with experience delivering projects using Axiom.
- Experience: 5–8 years of Axiom experience and 5+ years of professional application development experience.
- ETL & Databases: Hands-on experience with ETL and database development, with a strong understanding of SQL and modern and traditional databases.
- Axiom Reporting: Experience with Freeform report building and Taxonomy reports.
- Report Optimization: Experience developing and performance tuning reports.
- Oracle & Unix: Strong knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL and Unix.
- Deployments: Experience with application/report deployments and production environments.
- Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a structured approach to resolving technical issues.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Collaboration: Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a full team environment.
- Working Hours: Flexibility to provide support during Paris working hours when required.
