Role Summary
Société Générale is hiring a Specialist Software Engineer for its Chennai office. In this role, you will analyze business analyst specifications, construct maintainable and reusable code, design relational database tables, create stored procedures, functions, and automated triggers, execute unit/system testing, maintain data quality/security, and provide L2/L3 support aligned with Paris operational hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Database Engineering & Development: Design database schema tables, construct optimized SQL code, write stored procedures, database functions, and create triggers for automated data processes.
- Data Governance & Security: Maintain high standards of data quality and enforce strict data security guidelines across development and homologation environments.
- Testing & CI/CD Pipelines: Develop and execute test plans/scripts, follow software versioning controls, log and verify software defects, and utilize CI/CD deployment tools.
- Production Support & Agile Collaboration: Analyze and respond to incidents escalated by end-clients or business users (including potential Paris business hour coverage) with a proactive Agile mindset.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 4 to 6 years of relevant hands-on software engineering and SQL database development experience.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Deep proficiency in SQL, schema design, stored procedures, functions, database triggers, CI/CD tools, test automation, and defect tracking lifecycle.
- Core Competencies: Strong analytical troubleshooting skills, high reactivity, self-driven autonomy, and experience working in distributed global cross-location teams.
