Role Summary
Société Générale is hiring a Software Engineer - Python Developer / Data Engineer for its Data Management & Analytics team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and deploy ETL pipelines, Data Integration jobs, and data update procedures for local Data Warehouses and Datamarts. You will build scalable, reusable data ingestion frameworks on Microsoft Azure using PySpark, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, MS SQL, and ADLS Gen-2 while ensuring strict data governance and privacy compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- ETL & Pipeline Development: Support the design, development, testing, and release of ETL processes, data integration jobs, and automated procedures using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and PySpark.
- Framework Engineering: Build scalable and reusable frameworks for ingesting, transforming, and enhancing enterprise datasets within Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen-2) and Data Warehouses.
- Quality & Governance: Ensure data accuracy through rigorous testing, maintain repository documentation, enforce Data Management Policy and privacy regulations, and report data risk or quality impacts.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate across cross-functional departments and suppliers to optimize data acquisition workflows and ensure high information accessibility.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on Data Engineering and Python development experience.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in Python, PySpark, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), MS SQL, ADLS Gen-2, ETL design patterns, and Data Warehousing principles.
- Preferred Exposure: Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and Power BI reporting tools.
