Role Summary
Setoo is seeking an experienced, engineering-focused Full-Stack Software Engineer – Distributed Systems & AI to join our technology team in Pune, Maharashtra, India. In this full-time, in-office role, you will design, build, and scale high-performance full-stack applications and distributed backend architectures. You will develop modern web applications with React and Next.js, build high-throughput microservices using Python (FastAPI/Django) and Node.js, and engineer intelligent, AI-powered systems integrating Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, and vector databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Stack & Distributed Systems Engineering: Architect, develop, and maintain secure, scalable full-stack web applications, microservices, and asynchronous distributed backend services.
- Backend & API Development: Build high-performance RESTful APIs and backend services utilizing Python (FastAPI, Django) and Node.js, applying solid design patterns and OOP/SOLID principles.
- Frontend Architecture: Develop responsive, performant, and accessible user interfaces utilizing React.js, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern frontend state management workflows.
- Database & Vector Storage Design: Design and optimize relational and NoSQL database schemas (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis) alongside vector databases for semantic search (Qdrant, Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, or FAISS).
- Generative AI & RAG Solutions: Build and deploy production-grade AI-powered applications leveraging LLMs, embeddings, RAG pipelines, and intelligent agent workflows.
- Reliability & DevOps: Implement authentication, authorization, caching, background processing, and automated CI/CD pipelines with Docker and Linux environments.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional software engineering experience building scalable web applications and distributed systems.
- Core Programming: Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Technical Stack: Hands-on expertise with FastAPI, Django, Node.js, React, Next.js, and relational/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
- AI & Vector Search: Practical experience developing applications with Large Language Models (LLMs), RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector databases.
- Distributed Computing Fundamentals: Solid grasp of message queues, caching strategies, event-driven architectures, system design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Preferred Capabilities: Familiarity with LangChain, LlamaIndex, PyTorch/TensorFlow, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Kubernetes, and major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
