Sr Software Engineer

Role Summary

ServiceNow is hiring a Sr Software Engineer for its Engineering, Infrastructure, and Operations team in Hyderabad (Flexible/Hybrid). In this full-stack/backend engineering role, you will design, architect, and deploy end-to-end features powered by agentic AI systems and LLM-based tooling. You will write maintainable code, optimize distributed systems, manage API integrations, debug complex production issues, and mentor junior software engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-End Feature Delivery: Design, write, test, and deploy scalable features from initial technical architecture through to production monitoring.
• AI Integration & Innovation: Build and integrate agentic AI features, LLM tools, and AI-native workflows into the ServiceNow platform.
• System Engineering & Code Reviews: Maintain high code quality across Java, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Python codebases, drive architectural decisions, and participate in code reviews.
• Operations & Mentorship: Participate in production on-call rotations, resolve complex distributed system issues, and mentor junior engineers (IC1/IC2).

Key Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: 5–8 years of professional software development experience.
• Mandatory Technical Stack: 1+ years with AI/ML systems or LLMs, proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python, REST API design, and system architecture.
• Preferred Technical Exposure: Hands-on experience with AI-native coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
