Role Summary
Salesforce is hiring a Sr. Data Engineer for its Cloud Success Data Intelligence (BI) team in Hyderabad, Telangana. In this senior data engineering role, you will build, optimize, and maintain robust data pipelines that ingest, transform, and feed business intelligence schemas from diverse data sources (including Salesforce Orgs). You will collaborate closely with visualization teams, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver clean, governed datasets for Tableau reporting while providing technical leadership and mentoring junior data engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Pipeline & ETL Engineering: Architect, deploy, and maintain automated data pipelines using Python, Apache Airflow, and complex SQL to move data seamlessly into BI schema environments.
- Data Governance & Quality: Establish and enforce data governance standards, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, security compliance, and daily pipeline monitoring.
- Stakeholder & BI Collaboration: Partner with Business Analysts and Visualization teams to prepare, clean, and preprocess raw datasets for Tableau dashboards and executive business reviews.
- Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior data engineers, fostering skill growth and engineering best practices across projects.
- Process Automation & Innovation: Build REST APIs to extract data from sources like Salesforce Orgs, leveraging modern AI productivity tools to automate workflows and optimize data infrastructure.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or an equivalent quantitative discipline.
- Experience: 6-8+ years of professional data engineering experience supporting business intelligence, analytics, or enterprise reporting environments.
- Core Technical Stack: Deep proficiency in Python, writing complex SQL queries, workflow orchestration via Apache Airflow, and database management in Snowflake or Oracle.
- Problem-Solving & Analytics: Strong track record in dataset preprocessing, report development, data pipeline troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical data structures into actionable insights for business leadership.
