Role Summary
Salesforce is hiring a Software Engineer SMTS (Senior Member of Technical Staff) for its Hyderabad technology center. In this role, you will build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices and AI-first development workflows. You will integrate AI agents into human workflows, design system architectures, write structured prompt workflows, evaluate human and AI-generated code, and leverage technologies like Java, Kafka, and Kubernetes to maintain CRM platform stability and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- AI-Driven Software Engineering: Build, optimize, and ship production-grade software by embedding AI tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) directly into the development workflow.
- System Architecture & Integration: Design complex systems where autonomous AI agents seamlessly integrate into human workflows to drive scalability and performance.
- System Context & Governance: Maintain explicit system repositories covering design constraints and standards to ensure reliable, secure, and production-ready AI outputs.
- Code Quality & Review: Critically evaluate both human-written and AI-generated code for correctness, security vulnerabilities, performance bottlenecks, and adherence to enterprise standards.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: Senior-level engineering experience (typically 5+ years) with an emphasis on system design and software architecture.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Demonstrated AI-first approach to engineering, hands-on fluency with AI coding assistants (Copilot, Codex, Claude Code, Cursor), and advanced prompt engineering skills.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Hands-on experience in Java, streaming technologies (Apache Kafka), Elasticsearch, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
