VBA Engineer

Role Summary

Quest Global is hiring a VBA Engineer for its Energy vertical in Bengaluru, Karnataka. In this role, you will build Visual Basic (VB) prototypes, develop small-scale automation applications, and write VBA scripts to streamline MS Excel spreadsheets and MS Office tools. You will handle database data extraction, connect frontend MS Office interfaces with backend data sources, and support business process automation across energy domain projects.

Key Responsibilities

• VBA & Excel Automation: Develop, test, and maintain MS Excel VBA scripts, custom macros, and VB application prototypes to automate complex manual workflows.
• Application Development: Build and enhance MS Office application tools, managing frontend user interfaces and backend logic.
• Data Integration & Extraction: Establish database connections, query backend systems using SQL, and execute automated data extraction routines.
• Requirements Analysis: Analyze operational business requirements and convert them into automated, user-friendly Excel-based solutions.
• Scripting & Enhancement: Apply web scraping techniques, basic Python scripts, and ETL processes to optimize data reporting and dashboarding pipelines.

Key Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Hands-on experience in Excel spreadsheet automation and MS Office application development using VBA/VB.
• Technical Competencies: Proficiency in VBA scripting, Excel macros, database queries (SQL basics), and Python fundamentals.
• Nice to Have: Experience with Business Intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, Spotfire), web scraping tools, ETL processing, or AutoCAD scripting.
