Role Summary
Quest Global is hiring a Core Java Application Engineer for its Semiconductor business unit in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. In this individual contributor role, you will design, develop, and deploy high-performance Java applications and software components across the Windows software stack. You will write optimized algorithms, handle multithreaded systems, implement Inter-Process Communication (IPC), and utilize gRPC/Protobuf protocols to support complex semiconductor software workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Core Java Development: Design, write, and optimize modular, high-efficiency Java code utilizing advanced collections, iteration algorithms, and tree traversals.
- Multithreading & IPC: Implement concurrent, multi-threaded programming patterns, managing thread safety, performance tuning, and inter-process communication.
- System Architecture & Protocols: Build application components using Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles, design patterns, RMI services, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers (Protobuf).
- Testing & Validation: Conduct comprehensive unit testing, static code analysis, debugging, and verification across the Windows software environment.
- Technical Documentation: Create application architecture handbooks, design documents, and technical guides to represent software structure and logic accurately.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 4+ years of core Java software engineering experience, specifically writing complex algorithms and multithreaded desktop or backend applications.
- Core Technical Stack: Expert proficiency in Core Java, Collections framework, OOD patterns, multithreading, IPC, gRPC, Protobuf, RMI, and unit testing frameworks.
- Debugging Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proven ability to debug complex application runtime issues.
- Nice to Have: Experience with Spring Boot, Java 8+ features, static code analyzer tools, or domain exposure within the Semiconductor equipment/software industry.
