Role Summary
Quest Global is looking for a C++ Desktop Application Developer to contribute to the development of Windows-based software solutions in its Semiconductor engineering organization in Chennai. The role involves requirements analysis, software design and development, debugging, testing, validation, and technical documentation for medium- to high-complexity software projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Software Development: Analyse requirements, design, develop, modify, and deploy software components across the Windows software stack.
- C++ Engineering: Develop effective, reusable, and maintainable C++ code following established engineering practices and coding standards.
- Testing & Validation: Perform unit testing, verification, and validation of developed software components.
- Debugging: Analyse and resolve software issues using strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging techniques.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain technical documents and handbooks that accurately describe application design and implementation.
- Project Execution: Work independently as an individual contributor to deliver project tasks on time and with the required quality while aligning with customer priorities.
Key Qualifications
- Core Technical Skills: Strong C++ expertise, preferably with large-scale application development experience, along with a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Design concepts.
- Programming Fundamentals: Strong knowledge of Data Structures & Algorithms and experience with multithreaded programming.
- Inter-Process Communication: Hands-on experience with IPC, preferably gRPC.
- Software Quality: Knowledge of design patterns, unit testing frameworks, and code analysis tools.
- Preferred Skills: Experience with modern C++ features including C++11, C++14, C++17, or C++20.
- Windows & Debugging: Experience with debugging tools such as WinDbg and Perfmon, and exposure to Windows event logs and application logs.
- Domain Knowledge: Good understanding of OS internals/concepts and semiconductor domain experience is beneficial.
- Professional Attributes: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with willingness to learn, unlearn, and re-learn.
