Role Overview
Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a proficient and driven Software Engineer to join our Engineering Group in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. In this role, you will design, develop, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, production applications, and specialized utility tools. Collaborating with cross-disciplinary hardware, systems, architecture, and test teams, you will implement core product modules, lead the development of complex features, triage and resolve system-level defects, and ensure high operational performance for Qualcomm's next-generation connected technologies.
Core Responsibilities
- Feature Design & Implementation: Architect, implement, and validate software modules and utility applications for embedded devices and cloud edge architectures using C, C++, Java, or Python.
- System Integration: Collaborate across systems, architecture, and hardware teams to evaluate technical trade-offs, interface requirements, and operational performance standards.
- Testing & Code Quality: Write and execute unit tests, conduct regression testing, perform detailed peer code reviews, and drive debugging efforts for complex, multi-system defects.
- Issue Triaging & Diagnostics: Analyze logs and system telemetry to isolate, reproduce, and resolve defects across active development and release branches.
- Technical Documentation: Author and maintain comprehensive design specifications, system interface documentation, and operational guides for distributed engineering teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Background & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline with 2+ years of software development experience; OR
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline with 1+ year of software engineering experience; OR
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Programming Proficiency: 2+ years of practical programming experience in languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python, supported by strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and modular design.
- APIs & Data Layer: Practical experience developing or consuming APIs and working with relational or NoSQL database management systems (DBMS).
- Source Control & Tooling: Hands-on experience utilizing enterprise version control systems, including Git or Perforce.
- Engineering Best Practices: Solid track record in systematic debugging, issue triaging, unit testing frameworks, and software development lifecycles (SDLC).
