Role Summary
Philips is hiring a Software Engineer II (HL7 Interface Engineer) for its healthcare informatics division in Bangalore, Karnataka. In this hybrid role (3 days per week in-office), you will develop, configure, test, and troubleshoot HL7 interfaces for seamless data integration across enterprise healthcare systems, including EMR, PACS, HIS, and clinical platforms. You will utilize integration engines (Rhapsody, Mirth Connect, Corepoint) and JavaScript to build reliable data pipelines, validate messaging workflows (ADT, ORM, ORU), and support go-live and hypercare phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Interface Development & Configuration: Build, configure, and maintain HL7 interfaces and integrations connecting EMR, PACS, and hospital information systems.
- Message Validation & Troubleshooting: Conduct HL7 v2 message mapping, validation, and connectivity troubleshooting across ADT, ORM, and ORU message workflows.
- Integration Engine Management: Configure and monitor message routing using integration engines such as Rhapsody, Corepoint, or Mirth Connect.
- End-to-End Implementation Support: Participate in implementation lifecycles including build, testing, go-live, and hypercare support for clinical environments.
- Monitoring & Escalation: Identify, monitor, and resolve data flow and system connectivity issues to guarantee continuous healthcare interoperability.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in healthcare IT, interface engineering, or healthcare application support.
- Mandatory Technical Skills: Solid understanding of HL7 v2 standards, JavaScript, SQL/databases, and hands-on experience with HL7 integration engines (Rhapsody, Corepoint, Mirth Connect, Intersystems, or Openlink).
- Domain Knowledge: Exposure to clinical systems, EMR, PACS, or hospital information networks.
- Preferred Skills: Familiarity with FHIR/APIs, DICOM standards, Python scripting, or cardiology/medical imaging workflows.
