Role Summary
Philips is hiring a Cloud Engineer for its Image Guided Therapy Systems (IGTS) business unit in Bangalore, Karnataka (Hybrid, 3 days/week in-office). In this backend cloud development role for the Azurion Eye Sensing Lab, you will design and develop Python microservices and PySpark data ingestion pipelines to collect, transport, and ingest clinical data from Azurion systems, Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Radiology Information Systems (RIS), and PACS into the SensingLab cloud. You will deploy containerized applications on Kubernetes, process DICOM and HL7 data formats, and extend the OneSpace data collection framework for advanced AI analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Microservices & Pipeline Development: Build scalable backend microservices in Python and real-time data ingestion pipelines using PySpark to collect and ingest clinical data into SensingLab cloud infrastructure.
- Healthcare Data Transport: Build fault-tolerant transport services processing DICOM, DICOM Web, and HL7 datasets from hospital systems (HIS, RIS, PACS), implementing retry and dead-letter queue patterns.
- Framework Extension: Leverage and extend the OneSpace data collection framework to support SensingLab-specific data sources, schemas, and event-driven data flows.
- Containerization & CI/CD: Deploy containerized services using Kubernetes, manage REST APIs, and integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
- Compliance & Security: Ensure all data collection services comply with healthcare cybersecurity standards, data privacy regulations, and medical device software requirements.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 4–8 years of experience in cloud or backend software development.
- Core Technical Stack: Strong hands-on proficiency in Python, PySpark, RESTful Microservices, Kubernetes, and Data Modeling.
- Domain & Cloud Exposure: Experience with AWS, SQL, messaging queues (Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ), healthcare standards (HL7, DICOM, DICOM Web), and OneSpace framework is highly preferred.
