Role Summary
PepsiCo is hiring a Software Eng Sr Engineer for its Digital Products and Services team in Hyderabad. In this role, you will design, build, and deploy cloud-native microservices and distributed backend platforms that power global supply chain and operations. You will leverage Java, Spring Boot, cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and modern AI coding tools to optimize platform reliability, latency, and system observability.
Key Responsibilities
- Backend Microservices Engineering: Design and develop high-throughput, scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
- Cloud Infrastructure & Event-Driven Systems: Build distributed event-driven components, optimize system performance, and integrate cloud services on Azure or AWS platforms.
- Engineering Excellence & AI Tools: Utilize AI-driven development tools (GitHub Copilot, Devin) to accelerate coding workflows while maintaining secure, enterprise-compliant standards.
- Mentorship & Code Governance: Conduct comprehensive peer code reviews, mentor software engineers across squads, and collaborate with architects on platform standards.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 8+ years of dedicated backend software engineering experience with complex distributed systems.
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Deep expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices design patterns, distributed architecture, and public cloud substrates (Azure or AWS).
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, Kubernetes, Docker, automated CI/CD pipelines, and AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Devin).
- Core Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, architectural vision, technical leadership, and mentoring capabilities.
