Role Overview
Pegasystems (Pega) is seeking a Software Engineer - GenAI Engineering (Pega Developer CSA, CSSA) to join its Product Engineering team in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. In this role, you will be part of an innovative engineering team driving the integration of cutting-edge Generative AI capabilities into the core Pega Platform. You will collaborate with global software engineers, ML specialists, and product managers to build AI-powered assistants and autonomous agents that assist developers in authoring Pega Rules, while establishing robust GenAI evaluation, guardrailing, and observability standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Pega GenAI Feature Engineering: Design and build native Generative AI capabilities directly integrated into the Pega enterprise platform.
- Agent & Assistant Integration: Partner with ML engineers to implement harnesses powering Pega’s autonomous agents and AI assistants that streamline rule creation for platform developers.
- Platform Architecture: Leverage core, built-in Pega architecture and low-code extension patterns to build scalable enterprise-grade solutions.
- AI Governance & Observability: Contribute to GenAI output evaluation frameworks, telemetry tracking, observability pipelines, and AI safety/guardrailing mechanisms.
- Agile Delivery & Code Quality: Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, write maintainable solutions adhering to OOP standards, and ensure high reliability of database queries across relational systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
- Professional Experience: 2 to 4 years of dedicated software development experience on the Pega platform.
- Certifications: Certified System Architect (CSA) and Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) certifications are required.
- Database & Core Foundations: Hands-on experience with Relational Databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL), SQL query development, and Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS) principles.
- Development Methodologies: Practical experience working within Agile and Scrum project execution models.
- Preferred Technical Skills: Knowledge or hands-on experience in Java/J2EE and JSP is a strong added advantage.
