Role Summary
Oracle is hiring a Senior Platform Software Engineer (IC3) for its Product and Research organization in India. In this role, you will design, develop, optimize, and maintain enterprise reporting, dashboards, and BI analytics platforms. You will engineer solutions across SAP BusinessObjects, Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), and Tableau, develop high-performance Oracle SQL and PL/SQL packages, build multi-layered semantic data models, and leverage modern automation and AI-assisted engineering tools within an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Analytics & Dashboard Engineering: Design and build interactive dashboards, pixel-perfect reports, scorecards, and data visualizations using SAP BusinessObjects (WebI, Crystal Reports), OAC, and Tableau.
- Semantic & Data Modeling: Design, maintain, and enhance semantic layers (UDT/IDT) across Physical, Business/Logical, and Presentation layers to drive enterprise self-service analytics.
- Database & Query Optimization: Develop and fine-tune Oracle SQL and PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views; optimize execution plans, partitioning, and indexing for massive data volumes.
- Production Support & AI Innovation: Conduct root cause analysis for complex production issues, perform schema impact analyses, and utilize AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude) to accelerate code generation, refactoring, and documentation.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise BI reporting, semantic data modeling, and relational database engineering (IC3 level).
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Deep expertise in SAP BusinessObjects (BI 4.x), WebI, Crystal Reports, Universe Design (UDT/IDT), Oracle Database, and advanced SQL/PL/SQL performance tuning.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Hands-on experience with Oracle Analytics Cloud (OAC), Tableau, Python or Java, RESTful APIs, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Git, and AI-assisted development tools.
- Core Soft Skills: Strong analytical debugging, cross-functional collaboration with DBAs and business analysts, disciplined documentation, and an Agile mindset.
