Role Summary
Oracle is hiring a Platform Software Engineer 2 (IC2) for its Product and Research team in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and operate scalable cloud-native microservices supporting the OCI Deployment Platform. You will contribute to core distributed systems and analytics engines processing massive infrastructure configurations, build high-performance REST APIs, automate CI/CD pipelines, and maintain high availability across cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud-Native Service Development: Design, build, test, and maintain scalable microservices, REST APIs, and distributed data processing components using Java and object-oriented principles.
- OCI Deployment Platform Support: Implement distributed systems that ingest, transform, and evaluate cloud resource relationships, configurations, and infrastructure analytics.
- DevOps & Quality Automation: Author automated unit, integration, and performance tests; maintain CI/CD pipelines; and containerize applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Observability & Production Support: Monitor services across production environments, perform root cause analysis on incidents, and implement system optimizations to improve uptime and performance.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience: 3 to 5+ years of software engineering experience developing and supporting production applications (IC2 career level).
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Strong proficiency in Java, microservice architectures, REST-based application design, OOP patterns, distributed system fundamentals, cloud platforms (OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Hands-on experience with native OCI services, large-scale data processing/streaming engines, observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing dashboards), and cloud security best practices.
- Core Soft Skills: Strong technical problem-solving capabilities, clear communication skills, and an Agile, cross-functional team mindset.
