Role Summary
Oracle is hiring a Core Infrastructure Engineer 2 (IC2) for its Product and Research organization in India. In this role, you will implement and optimize core components within existing distributed systems under the guidance of senior engineers. You will design for scalability, conduct performance and load testing, configure resilience patterns (retries, circuit breakers, timeouts), build telemetry and alerting frameworks, and support on-call operational troubleshooting using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tooling.
Key Responsibilities
- Distributed Systems Scalability: Implement and tune distributed infrastructure components for large-scale data retrieval, horizontal/vertical scaling, storage, and processing.
- System Reliability & Resilience: Configure fault-tolerant mechanisms including redundancy, automated failover, retries, and circuit breakers to handle network variability and zero-downtime updates.
- Observability & Runbook Execution: Build telemetry pipelines, health dashboards, and alerting configurations; draft and execute runbook procedures to detect and recover from system failures.
- Operational Troubleshooting & Security: Participate in operational on-call rotations, run automation/IaC scripts for diagnostic triage, and enforce multi-tenant cloud security controls (encryption, access management).
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in core infrastructure, distributed systems, or cloud platform engineering (IC2 level).
- Mandatory Technical Stack: Proven experience with distributed systems architecture, systems performance/load testing, telemetry & alerting systems, automation scripting, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Preferred Technical Exposure: Experience with fault-injection/chaos testing, data replication and synchronization, circuit breaker patterns, and cloud compliance remediation.
- Core Soft Skills: Strong diagnostic problem-solving abilities, disciplined tracking of project timelines, collaborative partnership, and an eagerness for continuous learning.
