Role Summary
Oracle is hiring an Application Software Engineer 1 for its engineering hub in Bengaluru, Karnataka. In this entry-to-early career role, you will build enhancements within existing software architectures, design and develop data-driven reports using SQL/PL-SQL, and debug software applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, gain expertise in Oracle Millennium healthcare data models, and support continuous software releases.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Development & Enhancements: Design and write clean code to build features and enhancements within existing software architecture following specification guidelines.
- Database & Report Engineering: Create, optimize, and maintain complex reports involving data fetching via SQL/PL-SQL, data processing, and visual data representation.
- Debugging & Root Cause Analysis: Perform component-level debugging, investigate application anomalies, and document thorough root cause analysis and resolution steps.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage in requirement-gathering sessions, estimate task timelines, and collaborate directly with client and project stakeholders.
- Release & Operational Support: Participate in software release deployments, technical design discussions, and operational support (Standard Shift: 9 AM - 6 PM).
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience: 0 to 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering, database development, or application maintenance.
- Core Technical Stack: Practical proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL querying, data retrieval methods, and standard debugging techniques.
- Core Competencies: Strong problem-solving aptitude, excellent written/spoken English communication skills, and willingness to learn healthcare data workflows.
- Nice to Have: Hands-on experience with Oracle Millennium data architecture, healthcare IT systems, or automated testing scripts.
