Senior Data Engineer

Role Summary

Optum (UnitedHealth Group) is hiring a Senior Data Engineer in Gurgaon, Haryana. In this role, you will design, build, test, and tune high-performance ETL pipelines and cloud data warehousing solutions within the healthcare caredata domain. You will leverage Databricks, Snowflake, Apache Spark, SQL, and Azure to integrate large-scale data, manage automated workflows with Apache Airflow, and implement CI/CD deployment pipelines using GitOps tools like GitHub Actions and Jenkins.

Key Responsibilities

• Pipeline & ETL Development: Design, develop, and optimize high-throughput data pipelines and complex ETL workflows to ingest data into enterprise data warehouses.
• Cloud Infrastructure & Orchestration: Schedule and monitor deployed pipelines using Apache Airflow, manage dependency hierarchies, and ensure Azure cloud infrastructure stability.
• CI/CD & Deployment: Build and maintain automated build/deployment pipelines via GitHub Actions and Jenkins to promote code across non-prod, staging, and production environments.
• Database Management & Performance Tuning: Write complex SQL queries, manage schema DDLs, and tune performance across Snowflake, Hive, Databricks, and relational DBMS platforms.
• AI Solution Integration: Design and deploy low-code, no-code, and advanced AI-powered data workflows to improve product analytics and decision-making systems.

Key Qualifications

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.C.A. / Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, ETL development, and data warehousing.
• Mandatory Technical Stack: Deep proficiency in Databricks, Snowflake, SQL, Apache Spark, Hive, Apache Airflow, Azure, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins / GitHub Actions).
