Senior Data Engineer (Databricks / PySpark)

NXP Semiconductors

Role Summary

NXP Semiconductors is looking for a hands-on Senior Data Engineer with a strong DevOps mindset to join our Enterprise Data Platform team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will design, engineer, deploy, and operate scalable, production-grade ETL/ELT data pipelines using Databricks, PySpark, and SQL. You will build reusable ingestion frameworks across enterprise data sources, deliver automated deployments via CI/CD, maintain data quality and consistency, and partner with cross-functional analytics squads to supply clean, high-performance data models for enterprise business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pipeline Architecture & Delivery: Design, build, and optimize scalable, robust ETL/ELT data pipelines on Databricks using PySpark and advanced SQL.
  • Ingestion & Framework Development: Construct reusable patterns and automation frameworks for data ingestion, transformation, validation, and reconciliation from enterprise source systems.
  • DevOps & CI/CD Deployment: Manage automated deployments using Git branching models and CI/CD pipelines, driving changes through the Change Request (CR) lifecycle.
  • Operational Health & Problem Management: Maintain the health of business-critical data pipelines through proactive monitoring, alerting, root-cause analysis (RCA), and permanent bug remediations.
  • Cross-Functional Analytics Alignment: Partner with BI, reporting, visualization, and platform engineering teams to deliver curated, analytics-ready datasets and author clear technical runbooks.

Key Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: 4+ years of dedicated hands-on experience in data engineering, building and supporting distributed data processing workflows.
  • Core Stack: Advanced proficiency in Databricks, Python, PySpark, SQL, relational and dimensional data modeling, Git, and CI/CD practices.
  • Cloud & Operations: Experience managing data services in cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and supporting live production workloads (alerting, debugging, incident response).
  • Nice to Have: Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate certification, familiarity with data orchestration tools (Airflow/Prefect), Delta Lake, and industrial or semiconductor manufacturing data domains.
  • Professional Competencies: Strong ownership mindset, bias for automated solutions over manual intervention, and clear communication across engineering and business teams.
