Role Summary
NXP Semiconductors is looking for a dedicated Platform Engineer (Data Platform / DevOps) to join our Enterprise Data Platform team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will build, secure, and operate foundational cloud infrastructure and Databricks environments supporting enterprise data engineering and analytics workloads. You will engineer and maintain automated GitLab CI/CD release pipelines, manage data replication tooling (HVR) and file ingestion patterns, configure job orchestration and dependencies, and implement proactive observability to guarantee platform availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Cloud & Databricks Infrastructure: Provision, maintain, patch, and refresh Databricks workspaces and cloud resources leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates.
- Data Ingestion & Replication: Support enterprise data replication workflows using tools like HVR, facilitating reliable batch and file-based ingestion from operational source systems.
- CI/CD & Deployment Automation: Author, maintain, and optimize GitLab CI/CD pipelines, enforcing branching policies, environment promotion gates, and Change Request (CR) governance.
- Job Orchestration & Scheduling: Configure and manage enterprise job dependencies, monitor scheduled runs, handle workload recovery, and coordinate with upstream data producers.
- Reliability, Monitoring & Support: Configure monitoring metrics, alerts, and dashboards to detect operational bottlenecks early, serving as the front-line responder for platform-level triage.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience spanning DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, or Data Platform Engineering.
- Core Stack: Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred), Databricks workspace administration, Python/Bash scripting, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), and enterprise monitoring tools.
- Nice to Have: Hands-on experience with enterprise data replication platforms (e.g., HVR), job orchestrators (such as Autopilot), Terraform, Databricks Workflows, and relevant cloud/Databricks certifications.
- Professional Competencies: Reliability-first engineering mindset, structured documentation habits, and strong cross-functional communication with data engineering squads.
