Role Summary
NXP Semiconductors is seeking a high-caliber Platform / DevOps Lead to spearhead our DevOps and Platform Engineering practice in Bengaluru. This technical leadership position combines architectural oversight, hands-on engineering depth, and vendor governance. You will own the roadmap, reliability, and automated delivery of enterprise Data Platform foundations, driving modern Databricks-native operating patterns, resilient CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code standards, observability frameworks, and workflow orchestration at scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Architecture & Standards: Define technical strategy for DevOps and platform operations, standardizing IaC patterns, data ingestion orchestration, and enterprise CI/CD release pipelines.
- Databricks Operations & Reliability: Architect Databricks-native operating environments, govern data access via Unity Catalog, and act as the primary escalation authority for complex platform incidents and change management.
- Problem Management & Observability: Spearhead root-cause analysis initiatives to drive permanent fixes over reactive support, monitoring platform KPIs (uptime, failure rates, cost efficiency, telemetry).
- Automation & Modern Practices: Champion autonomous workflows, agentic automation, and continuous delivery maturity models to eliminate manual operational overhead.
- Leadership & Vendor Governance: Mentor engineers, guide technical career development, and manage external vendor relationships (such as Databricks) regarding capacity, licensing, and major upgrade lifecycles.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 10+ years of comprehensive experience across Data Engineering, DevOps, and Platform Engineering, with a minimum of 2 years in a technical leadership or team lead role.
- Core Stack: Advanced hands-on proficiency in Databricks architectures, cloud infrastructure (Azure or AWS), Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and enterprise observability stacks.
- Nice to Have: Unity Catalog governance, Databricks-native AI models, and active industry certifications (Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional or Cloud Solutions Architect Professional).
- Professional Competencies: Strong servant leadership, outcome-driven stakeholder management, and clear technical communication across cross-functional engineering groups.
